Why I Love Usborne Encyclopedias

I use Usborne encyclopedias extensively in my homeschool. I use: the Usborne Encyclopedia of the Ancient World, the Usborne Geography Encyclopedia and Complete World Atlas, the Usborne Science Encyclopedia, the Usborne Encyclopedia of World History and the Usborne Children’s Encyclopedia.

The thing that I love about these encyclopedias is that they are all Internet linked. That means for each subject, there is a link to the Usborne website where you can follow links to get more information about the topic. I walk you through how to do that on the video.

Another thing that I love about these encyclopedias is the pages are beautifully laid out. The pictures are vibrant and make the child want to discover what’s on the page. I also like the fact that the information is appropriate for kindergarten through middle school and you can use the encyclopedias as a way to introduce a topic or as a complete lesson by following the Internet links.

For an in-depth review of each book, click on the video below. You can watch the whole thing or you can find individual books here: Usborne Science Encyclopedia (1:56), Walkthrough of Internet Link (2:29) Usborne Encyclopedia of World History (4:58), Usborne Encyclopdia of the Ancient World (6:39), Usborne Encyclopedia of Geography and Complete World Atlas (8:22), Usborne Children's Encyclopedia (9:35).

Here are each of my encyclopedias with a snapshot of their tables of contents. To purchase any (or all) the Usborne Encyclopedias in my review, you can go here.
